Colibri (Hummingbird) is inspired by my interactions with these birds. I always feel lucky to see these fast moving birds on occasion. I felt compelled to slow down time and freeze one in midair, and that's how my Colibri artwork was born.

I created Colibri by hand-carving each detail into a single block of linoleum, one color layer at a time. After printing the first layer of color, I erased that layer by carving it away and revealing the next layer. Then I printed the next color layer on top of the previous one. Repeating this process and allowing my oil based inks to dry for two weeks in between each layer. I did three color layers in total and two different color schemes. By the end of the process my lino block is destroyed and I can never reprint the design.

Printed one at a time on recycled paper with eco-friendly oil based inks. Hand inking techniques create unique prints, each one an original. Photos are representative of the print you will receive.
