Moonshroom is inspired by all the little mushrooms I see while I'm out hiking. The spiraled pattern at the bottom reflects the many cycles of the moon and earth's constant rotations.

To make, 'Moonshroom', I started with a hand drawn sketch on a piece of printmaking linoleum. Then I used my carving tools to cut each detail into the lino by hand. I carved meditatively, in the moment, slowly letting the artwork come to life, one cut at a time. After I finished carving the block, I rolled oil-based ink onto the raised surface (above my cut marks), and printed the block onto fine art paper.

Hand inking techniques create unique prints, each one an original work of art. Colors vary during the printmaking process, photos are representative of the print you will receive.

Printed by hand on fine art recycled paper, with linseed oil relief ink.
