Sometimes it seems like our actions are too small and insignificant, like we’re not doing enough, not putting out enough good into the world. This artwork is a reminder that even the smallest actions have a big effect (we just can’t see it all the time). Even a tiny seahorse has an effect on the massive ocean.

To make, 'Small Ripples Make a Big Ocean', I started with a sketch on a piece of printmaking linoleum. Then I used hand carving tools to cut each detail into the lino. Slowly the artwork came to life, one cut at a time. After I finished carving the block, I rolled linseed oil relief ink onto the raised surface (above my cut marks), and printed the block onto fine art recycled paper.

Hand inking techniques create unique prints, each one an original work of art. Colors vary during the printmaking process, photos are representative of the print you will receive.
